Lois Strehlo 02/22/2026

Lois Mae Strehlo, born on February 10, 1941, in River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at the age of 85. A proud member of the River Falls community, Lois graduated from River Falls High School with the class of 1959. Throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her roots, fostering relationships with family and friends alike.

Lois was a dedicated mother, raising two children, Deanna (Thomas) Carr and Robert Schorn. She found joy in her family, which expanded to include beloved grandchildren Heather (Jeremiah) James, Zachery (Madison) Schurman, step-grandson, Aaron (Danielle) Carr, step-granddaughter, Sarah (David) Carr and step-grandson, Travis Carr, as well as great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Evelyn, Sophie, Elijah, Willow and Elara. Her sister Sharon (Bud) Young and brothers Gary (LuAnn) Johnson and Duayne “Tuffy” Johnson, will also hold her memory dear.

Lois was preceded in death by: parents, Robert and Dorothy Johnson; brothers, Laurence Johnson, John Johnson; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Johnson.

In her professional life, Lois ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing her own house cleaning business. Outside of work, she engaged in a variety of hobbies such as participating in a bowling league, gardening, and maintaining a beautiful lawn. Lois had a flair for style, always appearing “put together” and “fashionable.” She enjoyed going out dancing, she took pleasure in traveling, including cruises and many memorable winters spent in Arizona near her sister Sharon.

Lois’ life will be celebrated on March 21, 2026, at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 805 E Division Street River Falls from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, with a service at 11:30 AM. A reception will also be held at the same location following the service, providing family and friends the opportunity to gather and honor her memory.
