Paul Orlo Langness, 83, of Amery, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home on May 29, 2026. Born on April 28, 1943, to Merrill and Evelyn Langness, Paul lived a life defined by devotion to his family and a playful, kind-hearted spirit.

On April 21, 1962, Paul was united in marriage to Nancy Cordie. Their journey together began in Stillwater, later moving near Bass Lake and Spirit Lake before eventually making their home along the river in Amery. Together, Paul and Nancy raised five children: Robin, Ronda, Ronald, Raymond, and Renee. Their family grew to include fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, all of whom Paul cherished deeply.

Paul was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose gentle guidance and laughter left an indelible mark on those he loved. He was a man of simple joys, whether he was sitting at the kitchen table for a game of cards or sharing stories with his family. Known for his sharpness and a playful sense of humor, he often shared lighthearted reminders, like ensuring everyone had their hair brushed before breakfast. He especially delighted in his great-grandchildren, teasing them just enough to create laughter and precious memories that his family will always treasure.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents, Merrill and Evelyn Langness; his grandson, Garrett Hanson; his son-in-law, Brian Newman; his sisters, Neoma Swenson and Elaine (Dick) Lamson; and his nephew, James Swenson.

Paul’s legacy lives on through his children: Robin (Kim) Hanson, Ronda Newman, Ronald Langness, Raymond Langness, and Renee (Brad) Hatch. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Lonnie Hanson, Juan Hanson, Casey (Taylor) Newman, Alex (Rachel) Newman, Jeff Tuttle, Corey (Shelly) Delong, Mackenzie Langness, Cheyenne Langness, Brandon (Emily) Hatch, Brandy Hatch, Bridgette Hatch, Brittney Hatch, and Brianna Hatch, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
