Madelon Ann Button (Zuelke), nee Karczewski passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was born in Clintonville, WI on April 16, 1933 and lived in Clintonville, Seymour, Green Bay, and New Richmond, WI, Woodbury, Shafer, Vadnais Heights and North St. Paul, MN.
Madelon wishes to thank all of her friends and co-workers in New Richmond, Hudson Court House and at 3M as well as her church friends at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond and at Woodbury Lutheran Church in Woodbury and also her friends and staff at Deerfield for their friendship which meant so much to her.
Madelon was preceded in death by her parents, Ormond and Helen Karczewski; her husband, James W. Button; ex-husband, Jerry Zuelke; daughter, Kelli Sobetski; 2 infant daughters; sister, Faith Engel; brother, Arthur Karczewski; great-grandson, Tommy Brown; and best friend, Colleen Zimmerman Swenby.
Madelon is survived by son, Jeffrey (Becky) Zuelke; daughter, Jeri Ann (Steve) Talmage; and son-in-law, Tom Sobetski; grandchildren, Ashley Knoble, Lindsay Zuelke, Onya (Todd) Elrod, Seth (Jen) Brown, Christi Talmage, Dan (Pam)Talmage, Kassandra (Kevin) Holder, Stephanie Sobetski, Randy (Katie) Sobetski; great-grandchildren, Chloe Reth, Owyn Knoble, Clayton Knoble, Malaki Elrod, Mya Elrod, Otto Brown, Brooks Brown, Anabella Talmage, Adiline Talmage, Michael Holder and Alexander Holder.
Madelon was active as a member of First Lutheran Church in New Richmond and Woodbury Lutheran Church in Woodbury. She was a 20 year member of the East Side Lions Club in St. Paul, MN.
A Celebration of Madelon’s Life was held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2 pm at the First Lutheran Church 218 County Road K New Richmond, WI. Visitation was also on Saturday from 12 – 2 pm at the church. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
