Mildred Pedersen 12/21/2011

Mildred “Bill” Pedersen age 95 of River Falls died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at The Lutheran Home. She was born the daughter of Peder and Laura Pedersen on January 13, 1916 in River Falls.  She was baptized and confirmed at Ezekiel Lutheran Church and was a life long member.  Bill was a graduate of River Falls High School and River Falls Normal School.  She taught school for two years in Schofield, WI before moving back to River Falls where she farmed the family farm with her brother.  Bill loved horses.  She had a collection of hundreds of figurines and other horse related items.  She also had a very strong interest in local history.  She was a wealth of information to those interested in the history of the local area.  Bill was an outgoing social person who made friends easily.  She always kept track of who you were and where you were.  Family and friends could always be tracked down with a phone call or email to Aunt Bill.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Peder and Laura Pedersen; brothers, Henry Pedersen, Theodore Pedersen, Richard “Bud” Pedersen; and sisters, Marie Seekamp, Christine Pedersen, Ann Pedersen, Laura Ostness, Stella Pedersen, Min Pedersen, Dag Frye, Helen Halberg.  Bill is survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Pedersen and many nieces and nephews.  A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls.  Visitation was also Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the church.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:00 am.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
