Marion Deal upper insideMarion Deal age 87 of Hudson passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater.  Marion grew up in Madelia, MN before her family moved to Hudson.  She graduated from Hudson High School and on May 8, 1948, she married Raymond Deal at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Rectory in Hudson.  Marion spent 28 years working as an operator at the Hudson telephone company.  She always had a “soft-spot” for animals, especially dogs.  Marion loved to watch birds and bunnies in her yard and keep them all fed very well.  She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, going out to eat and watching sunsets.  She loved the holidays and spending time with family.  Her family remembers her as a kind and loving, hardworking and honest mother and grandmother.  She always enjoyed going to the Phipps and drinking coffee with her “sweets”.  Marion is survived by her daughter, Kim (Ken) Dobson; grandchildren, Angella Deal, Amy Deal, Richard (Jackie) Deal, Marlo (McKensie) Gravunder, Tonya (Steve) Smith, April (Joe) Adamson; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerry and Dewey Hoel; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Odin and Josephine Hoel; husband, Raymond Deal; son, Raymond Deal, Jr.; siblings, Patricia (Marvin) Solsvig, George (Mary) Hoel, Jane (Bob) Pearson; sisters-in-law, Vonnie and Ruth Hoel.  A private funeral service was held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services in Hudson.  Private interment took place in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Hudson.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.

    Amy and Kim, I am so sorry for the loss of your grandma and mother. She was a feisty, fun woman, and I always enjoyed her when I would come to visit. Take comfort in the knowledge that she is resting peacefully now. Love to you both.
