Gary R. Rothe, age 74 of New Richmond, WI, died on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his home. Gary was born the son of Ruben Rothe and Margaret Swanson on May 19, 1942 in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Clear Lake High School with the class of 1960. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Sharon Lien on September 23, 1961 at Moe Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. Gary worked as a truck driver for Gateway Transport. He was also a longtime employee of Bernard’s Northtown in New Richmond. He loved cars and everything about cars. He enjoyed camping and he and Sharon liked to travel. Gary was a hard worker, fun loving, and never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Strate; wife, Sharon Rothe; and brother-in-law, Jim Wisemiller. He is survived by his children, Jodi Rothe, Stacy (Dan) Campeau, William Rothe; grandchildren, Lyndzy (Troy) Eggen, Chelsey Campeau, Riley Wheeler, Samuel Wheeler, Madelyn Rothe; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, MaryAnn Wisemiller, Gloria (John) Burh; and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel 112 W 3rd Street New Richmond, WI. Private interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
