Donna Peck 01/25/2011

Donna M. Peck age 85 a long time resident Hammond died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the American Heritage Care Center where she lived since 2003.  She was born the daughter of Alfred and Rose (Boesel) Ecker on February 11, 1925 in Baldwin.  Donna graduated from Hammond High School in 1944 and on August 3, 1945, she married George Peck at the North Rush River Church.  George and Donna liked to visit relatives in the area and in South Dakota and Milwaukee.  She spent many years babysitting for people and always remembered a birthday for her relatives with a card in the mail.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and belonged to the Ladies Aid.  Donna enjoyed embroidering dish towels and pillow cases and going “garage sale-ing” with Muriel.  She loved to read and kept a list of all the books she had read.  Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and brother, Kenneth Ecker.  She is survived by her brother, Allen (Darlene) Ecker; sisters, Carol Bennett, Leona (Dick) Kinney; sister-in-law, Pat Ecker; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  A memorial service was held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 4:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond.  Visitation was also held Saturday from 3:00-4:00 pm before the service.  Private interment was in Hammond Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Baldwin
