Willard “Bill” Seiffert 12/17/2023

Willard “Bill” Seiffert, age 69, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his home in Amery, WI. He was born the son of Sharleen and Earl Seiffert on February 4, 1954 in Chicago, IL. Bill grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin attending schools in Glenwood City and Colfax, WI where he was a state champion wrestler and football player. Bill married Janine Bertelson on April 6, 1974 in Durand, WI. Bill and Janine owned a motorcycle shop in Austin, MN and after moving back to Hudson, Bill continued to sell motorcycles in Stillwater, MN. He also found success as a salesperson, mainly in real estate. Bill raced stock cars in Austin, MN and Cedar Lake Speedway. Bill loved fishing, hunting, and riding UTVs in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. Bill restored many cars, such as, a ‘72 Chevelle and a ‘85 Monte Carlo SS, which he gave to his grandson, Garrett. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed watching his grandsons, Garrett, in bowling competitions; and Andrew in baseball, football, and wrestling events. Granddaughter, Elyse, was the apple of her grandpa’s eye and he loved having Elyse ride with him in the Razor. Bill was a hardworking, caring, empathetic man who loved his family.
He is preceded in death by father, Earl; sister, Jackie; mother, Sharleen Thom; stepfather, Ernie Thom; and cousin, Dick Shilts. Bill is survived by his wife, Janine; daughter, Stacey LaPlount; son, Ross (Heather); grandchildren, Garrett LaPlount (21), Andrew (12) and Elyse (5); siblings, Glen (Chawna) Seiffert and Becky Hoyt; special friends, Adam LaPlount and Libby Seiffert; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 1:00PM in Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S Knowles Ave) in New Richmond with a visitation starting at 11:00AM. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    We are so sorry to hear the passing of Bill. I remember many times when I was young going to his parent’s farm to visit. Praying for peace and comfort in the days ahead.
