Wayne Donald Rundquist age 83 of Stockholm passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born the son of Waldemar and Henrietta (Johnson) Rundquist on February 2, 1932 in rural Pepin County. On August 22, 1953, he married Maxine Johnson. Wayne took pride in his work and success as a dairy farmer his entire life. He was a life-long member of Sabylund Lutheran Church. He served on the Church Board and sang in the Church Choir. Wayne also served his community as a supervisor on the Stockholm Town board, a member of the NFO (National Farmer Organization), and as a volunteer fire-fighter on the Lund Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling overseas, watching sports, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Wayne will be remembered for his great sense of humor and also for his generosity and kindness toward family, friends, neighbors and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; children, Greg (Doug Fenn) of Sheboygan, Patti (Vernon) Andrews of Ellsworth, Brian (Tracy) Rundquist of Pepin, Cindy Rundquist of Alma, Tim (Amy) Rundquist of Prescott and Mike (Nicole) Rundquist of Prescott; grandchildren, Ben Andrews, Eric Andrews, Melissa Rundquist, Miranda (Aaron) Gray, Kyle Rundquist, Gavin Walk, Karis Walk, Sophie Walk, Chelsea (Jason) Ivers, Ryan (fiance’, Amber Winters)Reidt, Sophia Reidt, Mariah Rundquist, Derek Rundquist, Morgan Blair, Brandon Rundquist, Madasyn Rundquist; great-grandson, Grayson Rundquist; sisters, Marjorie Anderson of Plum City and Bonnie (Lester) Annen of Winnebago, MN. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Rundquist and sister, Ruby Samuelson. A funeral service was held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Sabylund Lutheran Church in rural Stockholm. Visitation was also held on Thursday from 10:00-12:00 noon at the church. Private interment will be in the Sabylund Church Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
