Wayne Place 05/16/2019

Wayne A. Place “Bigfoot”, 86 of Boardman, WI died May 16, 2019. Preceded in death by wife of 58 years, Arlene; son, Daniel; parents, Albion and Gladys; brothers, Eldon and Gordon; sisters, Arlene (Dennis) Rein and Shirley (Dallas) McGinley. Survived by children, Debra, Jon (Mary), Joan, Cheryl (Mark), James, Mary, Michelle (Dennis) and Joseph (Erin); grandchildren, Nathaniel, Brandon (Megan), Abbigail, James, Joseph, Devin, Benjamin, Zachary, Samuel and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Elias and Amelia; brother, Gerald (Barb); and many cherished nephews, nieces and friends.  Wayne adored his family and embraced the title of “Bigfoot” to everyone he met. An Army Veteran and retired diesel mechanic, his many joys outside of work included riding motorcycle, dancing with Mom, Packer Games, traveling, auctions, working on projects in the garage and, of most of all, making memories with family and friends.  A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11am at Faith Community Church, 1040 Paperjack Drive, New Richmond, WI. Visitation from 9 – 11 am and luncheon following service at church. Interment was in Boardman Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at Meister’s Bar and Grill, Boardman, WI.  In honor of Wayne, the family invites you to wear your favorite Green Bay Packers or Harley Davidson apparel. Motorcycles, of course, are welcomed.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
