
Wayne Gordon Coleman was born January 29, 1926, in Bruce, Wisconsin and passed away on Jan. 22, 2017, at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond, WI. surrounded by family.
Wayne married Erma Rebecca Jane Miller on March 26, 1945 in Mt. Vernon, Washington. Wayne was a general contractor starting out in Rice Lake and moving to New Richmond in 1951. His most recognizable work was working on the original NR Armory and 1st addition to Holy Family Hospital. He was the general contractor building the New Richmond Bowling Alley. Wayne was also the construction coordinator for the addition to St. Luke’s Church plus the St. Croix Health Center. He also constructed numerous buildings, storefronts, and homes throughout the New Richmond area. In Wayne’s free time he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gifted woodworker. His passion in woodworking was making grandfather clocks and furniture. Every grandchild was gifted with a clock or jewelry box made by him and Erma. Treasurers they will have with them for many years. He also loved to garden. Growing vegetables and flowers all summer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma. His parents, Dorothy and Emery of Cameron, WI; son, Jim of Eau Claire, WI; brother Darold of Rice Lake. He is survived by sons; Michael (Midge) of New Richmond, WI; Barry Sr. of Long Beach, Wash.; sister Charlotte (and friend Jim) of Washington, brother Kenny (Ardie) of Cameron and grandchildren, Deborah Frame, Treena Coleman, Barbara Coleman, Anthony (Alycia) Coleman, Jeffery (Sherri) Coleman, David Hunt, Barry (Jeannie) Coleman Jr.; Great-Grandchildren, Angela Frame, Christina, Samantha, and Danielle Flandrick, Alexander and Zachary Frinack, Abigail, Annalise, and Alexis Coleman, Parker and Lila Coleman, Keilani and Chloie Coleman, Bette Geving of Inver Grove Heights, MN and many close friends and relatives. The visitation and funeral service are to be held on Tuesday, January 31st at St. Luke’s Church in New Richmond. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. The visitation will be 10 – 11am at the church with the funeral service and lunch to follow. Interment for both Wayne and Erma will be held together in the spring. He will be missed by so many…….
