Waylon Wachter 03/17/2026

Waylon Craig Wachter was born on March 9, 2026 to his parents Lindsey and Brandon Wachter at Hudson Hospital.

He weighed 1 pound, 10 ounces and was 13.5 inches long.

Waylon’s family was blessed with eight, love filled days at the NICU at Children’s Minnesota St. Paul Clinic before he passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, while being held in the loving hands of his parents, on March 17, 2026.

Waylon is the son of Lindsey and Brandon Wachter of Hammond. He is survived by his paternal grandparents, Dawn and Craig Wachter of New Richmond; and maternal grandparents Thomas and Christine Fick of Lake City. He is also survived by loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins. As well as numerous family members.

Waylon was the answer to many prayers, and his parents awaited his birth with joyful, loving expectations.  Waylon brought immense love to all those who spent time with him. His life was full to the brim with love, kisses, hand hugs, listening to stories and songs, special cuddles with Mom and Dad and being told “I love you” an uncountable number of times.  He made it known to everyone that his favorite book was “I’ll Love You Till The Cows Come Home”, but Dad especially enjoyed reading his own childhood favorite book, “Big Red Barn.” His family found joy and comfort in reading Waylon several books throughout the days and nights and talking to him about all things farming, cows and animals. He was blessed to be sung a multitude of sweet lullabies and was covered with an abundance of prayer and peace. For such a little guy, he had a large personality, and it shined. Waylon was known by his Mom as “trickster” or “turkey”, as he was always making his family and nurses laugh, keeping them on their toes; but always pulling quick tricks on Mom! He enjoyed making Mom laugh and getting sweet milk popsicles from her throughout the day- it was a special treat for them both.  Waylon will always remain his parents’ precious and most perfect baby and will hold him again in heaven one day. All their precious boy knew was love.

Waylon’s Family would like to extend immense appreciation and accolades to all the doctors and nurses that spent time with Waylon, loved him and offered compassion and support, especially their nurse Anna.

Waylon’s family is also requesting patience and prayers for peace during this time as they are navigating this unimaginable loss.

Private funeral services will be held for the family.
