Virginia “Jenny” Istel, age 95 of New Richmond, died on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Deerfield Gables in New Richmond. She was born the daughter of Ed and Ella Nelson on July 20, 1924. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ella Nelson; brothers, Lenny and Donny Nelson; sisters, Betty, Myra, and Doreen. She is survived by brother, Jim; sisters, Carolyn and RoyAnn; daughter, Cindy; granddaughter Terri; great-grandchildren, Chis and Jessie; great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte (ChaCha), Jordan (JoJo), and Jakob (JJ). Jenny adored the outdoors, gardening, camping, and fishing as proven by her many trips to Alaska to catch the big salmon. She also loved her crafts such as Xmas decorations, quilts, and painting. She will be missed by many and loved by all. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Rest In Peace sweet Jenny. I enjoyed doing her hair when she lived at the Lutheran Home in River Falls. Such a kind lady. We had many good conversations. My sympathy to all.
