Violet J. Callow, age 97 of River Falls, WI, died on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Violet was born the daughter of Herbert and Frances (Johnson) Taffs on June 2, 1924 in Westmont, IL. Violet was married to Milo Burdette “Bert” Callow on September 29, 1945 in Pleasant Prairie, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and son-in-law, Bernard Larson. Violet is survived by 8 children; 29 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11 am at Ono United Methodist Church W2501 US-10, Plum City, WI 54750. Visitation was also on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10-11 am. Interment was in the Ono United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be directed to Violet’s family. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Our sympathy to Art and Diana Smith, and family, on the loss of Diana’s mother. Your dedicated care of Violet through the years was a remarkable gift.
Today is a hard day , my aunt Vie /God mother passed into heaven . She was there so many times to dry my tears , and helped me understand things l could not. She helped heal my heart when it hurt. Her words l hear so clearly “ This too will pass.” And a hug would follow, life is hard you will make mistakes but we learn from them! I have fond memories spending my summers with “my up north family.” She always said we were her children too! My love for reading came from her! She taught me to crochet and knit to help with my stress. I remember her saying “what joy!”
Her smile and laughter will be in my heart forever. Rest In Peace Auntie.
