Viola Peterson 10/24/2015

Viola Peterson age 93 formerly of Star Prairie died Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Ogallala, NE.  She was born one of ten children to John and Anna Graese in Forest, WI.  She married Harland Peterson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest, WI on February 22, 1941.  The couple resided in Forest and New Richmond before moving to Star Prairie.  Viola was a homemaker most of her life but she also worked at the Star Prairie school as a cook/baker for many years. The last 5 months of her life she did a lot of traveling, which she loved.  Viola enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, and crossword puzzles.  Her biggest joy was always being around her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild.  Viola loved life and had a full and happy one.  

 

She is survived by children Gail (Jerry) Soderquist, Glen (Gayle) Peterson, Linda Paquin, and Tammie Gross; daughter-in-law, Bette Peterson; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

 

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Harland; son, Roger; and siblings.

 

A funeral service was held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at West Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Visitation was Monday, November 2, 2015 from 4-7 pm at Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church.  Interment was in the Church cemetery.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
