Vicki and I became very close friends after she and her family moved to St. Paul from River Falls. We went to school together and we declared our friendship to be destiny since both our middle names were “Jo”. We spent lots and lots of time at each other’s homes and getting into mischief. We climbed out her bedroom window one night to go to the local laundry mat to buy cigarettes…. OUT OF A MACHINE if you can believe that. I remember making taffy for the first time at her house, and her mom was a great cook even though she was a busy working mom…. Now I find out that another coincidence links us…. I had a major brain bleed in 2001. We were in touch a few years ago and I enjoyed catching up and seeing her at our class reunion…. She NEVER aged! Her spirit was still that of our youth. What great memories I have of Vicki.

Hello Marnie, My name is Kay Satersmoen Riley and I remember you from Murray. I am so saddened by Vicki’s passing and happy that she had you living nearby and to hear of your special friendship. I have good memories of her with a happy smile and a wonderful laugh.

The last few times I saw Vicki, she came and hung out and listened to music with my friend and I. She was radiant and full of life. I miss her.
