It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas (Tom) Allan Revord on December 9, 2024. Tom was born the son of Thomas and Josephine (Fabic) Revord on February 9, 1960, in Owen, WI. Tom attended grade school in the same town. Tom joined the Airforce and completed his training to be a jet engine mechanic on July 18, 1977. While in the Airforce, he earned his HSED on June 3, 1978. Tom spent some time living with friends and later with a very special brother, Ray. Tom started his career at Phillips Plastics in Medford, WI in 1979. Tom took a break from Phillips and earned his Auto Body Repair degree from North Central Technical Institute on May 23, 1984. During this time, he worked at an auto body shop and butcher shop. Tom eventually moved to the St. Croix County area and started working at Phillips again. Tom worked his way to a Senior Sample Technician and dedicated over 40 years to the company. He attended many special trainings throughout his time at Phillips and earned many certificates. He was very respected and admired by his fellow colleagues, many stating what an amazing, kind man he was.
Tom met Tammy while working at Phillips. Tom’s supervisor at the time was Tammy’s brother, Tommy. Tom married Tammy on September 15, 1990, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Richmond, WI. They lived outside of Somerset, WI before purchasing their first home. They purchased their first home in Dresser, WI in July of 1993 on the beautiful shores of Horse Lake. This home was Tom’s happy place and where he planned to raise his children. They welcomed their first child, Rebecca (Becky) on May 6, 1994. Several years later they completed their family when they welcomed, Thomas, on December 18, 2000. He was elated when he became a Grandpa for the first time to a beautiful baby girl, Josephine Jean Teske, on January 20, 2022. Tom was a family man and much of his life was dedicated to wife and children. He even stepped up as a second Dad to some very special nephews and a niece.
Tom was extremely involved in his children’s activities throughout their years growing up. If the kids wanted to try something, you better believe Tom was the first one cheering them on! Tom especially enjoyed helping Thomas with his pinewood derby car each year at a very special neighbor’s house and attending FFA banquets each year for Becky. Tom loved it when his children’s friends came over. Many of their friends referred to Tom’s house as their second home and Tom as their second Dad. Tom always made sure to keep the bonfire burning for all the kids. He also enjoyed watching Thomas play baseball and soccer and picking up Becky from ski club when she was in high school.
Tom enjoyed the outdoors, and you could find him outside most days. Tom loved working in the yard, fishing, boating, camping, ice fishing, hunting, spending time in his garage listening to music, and finding anything that had the word “free” written on it. He spent countless hours studying Horse Lake from his home-made pontoon and could tell you the depth of the lake at any spot. He enjoyed giving tours of the lake, making sure to highlight where the natural springs, marsh, and boat landing were. He caught many fish out of that lake and passed his love of fishing onto Thomas. Tom was also an avid hunter. He looked forward to spending that time in the woods each year. He spent many hunting seasons up at Deer Camp with good friend, Porky. He also spent time hunting with Thomas on Don’s land up north and up in Interstate Park. Tom took pride in having great friendships with his neighbors. Some very special neighbors: Porky and Kim Kahl, Kathy Sloper, Hobart Johnson, Bonnie and Mike Maloney, Matt and Vanessa Komorouski, Scott Hingos, and Don and Darlene Mueller, held a huge spot in his heart. If Tom wasn’t at his own house, you’d be sure to find him at one of theirs. He spent much time with them sitting by the fire having a beer, enjoying the views of the lake from the pontoon, and talking about life. He was an avid attendee of Kathy’s corn roast each year and accompanied Don and Thomas on an unforgettable fishing trip to Alaska. His favorite places to camp with his family were Twin Springs Campground in Menomonie, WI and Jellystone Park in Warrens, WI. Many summers were spent at Twin Springs and lifelong friendships with the owner’s daughter and her husband, Sue and Brian Schmidt, brought much happiness to Tom. His camping adventures with his family also brought him to Chetek, where he met lifelong friends Ron and Nancy Lauritsen.
Tom was always referred to as the man with many ideas. If Tom told you he had an idea, you knew there was a story coming. Boy, did he know how to make a short story into the longest story you’ve ever heard. He was coined with “inventing” the electric fishing rod, the electric hotdog cooker, and the electric bike when he was younger among many more out of this world ideas. His older years brought the pinecone machine. Guaranteed to keep mosquitos away but also fog out the neighborhood! He also constructed a snow luge from his deck all the way down to the frozen shores of Horse Lake. There were also many years that he would shovel a skating rink on the lake for the kids as well. Tom was also always there to help you fix anything. The only disclaimer is that it would require duct tape and zip ties. He helped Becky fix the alternator and the exhaust in her 2000 Ford Focus. Only one zip tie was used for the alternator and a soup can was Tom’s fix for her exhaust.
Tom was an avid lover of wrestling. He never missed Monday Night Raw. You could find him on Monday nights on the couch with his bowl of popcorn and an ice-cold beer watching wrestling. He knew every wrestler’s name by heart and what their signature move was. He enjoyed watching movies on the Sci-Fi channel as well. Tom was also a grill master. His family and friends always looked forward to Tom firing up the grill. He made some of the best homemade beef jerky around as well. Tom also took on the responsibility of maintaining a pool for his family and friends. He was very religious at getting the water tested and making sure the pool was clean. Tom was not much of a swimmer and if you asked him, he swam like a rock. Don’t let that fool you, you could find Tom in the pool on occasion. Only if it was warm enough though!
Tom was an animal lover and that was shown through his children’s love for animals as well. He and his family had cats, dogs, rabbits, Guinea pigs, fish, and a hamster throughout the years that were very important to him. Particularly his beloved German Shephard/Collie mix, Katie, and his late mother’s cat, Lokie. Tom also leaves behind his canine companion, Winnie, an 11-year-old German Shepherd. Tom and Winnie have a long and loving history with Winnie getting the two of them kicked out of obedient school when she was a puppy. Winnie was Tom’s sidekick, often found following him around wherever he would go. The two of them enjoyed walks around the lake, car rides, lounging on the couch, and spending time on the deck. Winnie will live out the remainder of her years with Becky and Josh until she is reunited with Tom again.
Tom was truly an amazing and incredible man. The type of person that would do anything to help someone else. He was a gentle soul and didn’t have a bad word to say about a single soul. He could strike up conversations with anyone including people he didn’t know. He was hardworking, dedicated, and loyal to everyone he encountered. He was full of fun facts and years of wisdom. He always had a listening ear and gave the best hugs. His infectious smile lit up a room. He will be missed as a bright light went out the day he passed away.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Josephine Revord, father-in-law William (Bill) Parent, mother-in-law Sandra (Sandy) Parent, sister Mary Jo Revord, brother in laws; Thomas (Tommy) Parent and Timothy (Tim) Parent, sister-in-law Connie Revord, and granddaughter Josephine Teske. Tom is survived by his wife, Tamera (Tammy) Revord, children Thomas and Becky (Josh Teske) Revord, brothers; Ray (Julie) Revord and Randy Revord, sisters; Roseann (Larry Dumler) Revord and Katherine (Jim) Shotliff, brother-in-law Chris (Monica) Parent and sister-in-law; Candice Parent. Tom is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Tom’s only wish throughout the years was to be buried overlooking the lake at his happy place, his home that he raised his family in. In the spring of 2025, we will have a service for Tom, with military honors, at New Richmond Cemetery. Some of Tom’s ashes will be buried in his plot that lies at the foot of his granddaughter, Josephine. The remainder of Tom’s ashes will be spread in and around Horse Lake. Following these events, will be a light lunch with refreshments and time to share memories you had with Tom. Please check back later for the day and time of Tom’s Celebration. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

What a loving tribute to your dad. Indeed he was a special man. A good friend who would ALWAYS lend a helping hand. So sad and sorry for yet another devastating loss💔
While fishing in Alaska, Tom was fascinated by the tide. He would walk the beach studying the current and the critters that were uncovered.
I went too high school with Tom. I found him quite and reserved. I hadn’t heard of him till FB. Brought us back into where we where at. Regrettably I hadn’t the chance to get to know him better. He was a incredible Man who accomplished much in his lifetime.
