Ted Orf, Jr. 09/21/2022

Ted Orf, Jr., age 90 of New Richmond, Wl, died on Wednesday, September 21,2022 at Spring Valley Health & Rehab in Spring Valley, Wl. Ted was born the son of Ted, Sr. and lda (Bethke) Orf on December 16, 1931 in the town of St. Joseph, St. Croix County, Wisconsin. He graduated from New Richmond High School with the class of 1950. Ted was married to Phyllis Hacke in 1951, they had 5 children together and later divorced. Ted farmed until the mid 1980’s when he sold the farm and started driving for Cemstone, retiring in 2006. He wore many hats: farmer, tax assessor for the Town of Richmond, he sold & installed PATZ farm equipment, Wesman & Rochester silos, Gardner drinking cups & stanchions, drove school bus and concrete truck. Ted enjoyed bowling, dancing and tractor pulls where he showcased his favorite lnternational Harvester tractors. Later in life his mission was to keep his large lawn mowed. Known to many as “Ernie” he was a hard working man who valued friendship. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted, Sr. and lda Orf; daughter, Diane Engelhart; grandson, Derrek Orf; brothers-in-law Robert Volkert, Wayne Kaczmarski; and special friends, Steve Jarchow and Audrey Anderson. Ted is survived by Phyllis Strege, his children Debby Geving of New Richmond, Danny (Leslie Kier) Orf of Hudson, Daryl (Dianne Talmage) Orf of New Richmond, and Denise (Jeff) Shannon of Ashland, Wl; grandchildren, Wes (Amanda)Geving, Tracy Geving, Dillon (Whitney)Orf, Andrew Engelhart, Austin Shannon; great-grandchildren, Hallie Geving, Hayden Geving, Lyv Geving, James Geving, Jora Geving, Gavin Orf; siblings, Maxine Volkert, Marlys Kaczmarski, Marlene (Jim) Roe; special friend, Gloria Basel; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Ted’s life was held on Sunday, October 2,2022 with visitation from2-4 pm and a service at 4 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, Wl. lnterment was in the Boardman Cemetery in Boardman, Wl. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
