Terry Hines 05/17/2024

Terry L. Hines, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones after a long battle with lung disease. He was born on July 23, 1936 in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Marian and Laurence Hines, and was the youngest of three children, one brother, Richard, and one sister, Roselind. He was once married to Norma (Battey) Hines and they raised four children, Kim, Sherri, Richard, and Jeff. Terry loved adventure and traveled around in his younger years, but settled to raise his family in River Falls, Wisconsin. He worked for 3M as a Quality Control Manager in the film division and truly loved his work. He spent his free time hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved to read. TL, as any called him, loved learning and never stopped until the day he died. Although he never embraced technology, Google became a good friend. Those who knew Terry knew he lived life to the fullest and did everything with great passion. Even though lung disease stole his zest for life, it never took away his humor, but instead brought him closer to his family and those who loved him. He passed away with great bravery, never losing his wit and inquisitive spirit.
He is survived by his former wife, Norma; children, Kim (Tom) Jensen, Sherri (David) Wells, Richard (Jeanie) Hines, and Jeff Hines; nieces, nephews, and several grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marian (Wilson) and Laurence Hines; brother, Richard Hines; and sister, Roselind (Edward) Eckert.
He will be laid to rest alongside his father, mother, and brother in Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Iowa. A Celebration of Life was held at the residence of Tom and Kim (Hines) Jensen (780 Chapman Drive River Falls, WI 54022) on Saturday, July 20, 2024 starting at 2:00PM. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
