Terry S. Christianson, age 84 of Hudson, WI, died on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Terry was born the son of Norman and Marion (Scheide) Christianson on August 21, 1940 in St. Paul, MN. He grew up in River Falls, WI graduating from River Falls High School with the class of 1957. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls before serving as a pilot in the Air Force from 1961 – 1965. Terry spent his career as a Pilot for 3M, making his last flight for 3m on August 31, 2000. He married Carol Defiel, and they made their home in St. Louis Park, MN until moving to Lakeland, MN in 2006. In 2014, Carol’s health brought the couple to the Christian Community Home and Wintergreen Apartments in Hudson, WI. Terry was and active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Afton, MN. He enjoyed traveling, air shows and museums, walks by the St. Croix, and fishing trips to Canada. He was a private man who thought before speaking, and had a dry sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Marion Christianson; brother, Thomas Christianson; wife, Carol Christianson; and son, Ricardo Defiel Sr. Terry is survived by children, Nick (Kara) Defiel, Mike (Tammy) Defiel Sr., and Christopher (Juana) Defiel; daughter-in-law, Tammy Defiel; grandchildren, Ricardo (Katie) Defiel Jr., Andrea (Justin) Defiel, Mike (Katie) Defiel Jr., Tricia (David) Stewart, Leslie (Darin) Roehl, Nyomi (Luke) Defiel, Ashley Defiel; 17 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church 880 Neal Ave S, Afton, MN and streamed live through the link just below this obituary. Visitation was also on Friday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, WI. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
