Susan Anne Levi (nee Prahl) died on Friday, April 10, 2026, after living many decades with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). She was born on June 15, 1945, the only child of Harlod and Helen Prahl and grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. A graduate of St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, Susan helped many people as a nurse throughout her life. She worked in a variety of clinical settings and during that time developed deep and lifelong friendships, provided mentoring and training to nurses as they began their careers, and was a source of comfort, medical care, and healing for many. Her final nursing role was to serve at the Emergency Room at the hospital in New Richmond.

Susan was the mother of the Rev. Scott (Virginia Kuemmel) Leannah and Kevin Leannah. She was “Grandma Sue” to Mia Leannah. She was a Stepmother to Scott (Melanie) Levi and Todd (Shelly) Levi as well as Grandma to Todd’s son Ryan.

The staff of Deerfield Gables nursing home took exceptional care of Susan for many years. In many ways, they were part of her family. During the end of her life, staff from Optage Hospice provided compassionate, expert end-of-life care. Susan’s family cannot thank staff from both the Deerfield and Optage enough.

When she was in better health, Sue loved to ride on the back of a Harley, go shopping, travel, and spend time with friends.

Susan was a person of faith and participated in worship and the sacraments. She wanted her death notice to include the fact that she felt very much at peace as the end of her life approached. “I am ready” she would say to her son Scott when they visited. May she rest in peace in the peace of Christ and rise in glory.

There will be a celebration of Sue’s life at The Deerfield on Friday, May 8 in the first floor community room. Visitation will take place from 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM. An opportunity to share in fellowship will follow the service. Sue’s wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes laid to rest with her parents in their parish cemetery in Sheboygan. The interment will take place at a later time.

Memorial gifts in Sue’s name will be gratefully accepted by St. Thomas and St. John Episcopal Church in New Richmond.

My deepest sympathy to Sue’s family. I enjoyed the times me and Lennie would visit them at home and at “Rosie’s” for some “smart” talk. Always looked forward to the fruit soup and fruit cake she made at Christmas time. Keep her with you in your happy memories. Through God’s mercy and love, may she rest in peace.
