Sophia Malone 09/07/2018

Sophia Jantz–Malone, Nee Taszarek, 1917 – 2018. Sweet Sophia passed away peacefully at the Deerfield Gables on Friday, September 7, 2018 surrounded by loving family members. Sophia, often described as happy, friendly, kind, proud, full of love, caring, giving, hard working, beautiful, stylish. She lived a long life full of family and friends. Her smiled brightened any day. She always took great pride in her appearance, her home, yard and her family. She would greet you with a smile. She loved humor to the end, if you spoke loud enough for her to hear you. Sophia loved her family, she had lots of new family and friends in the people she lived with, met and those that cared for her at the Deerfield Gables. Bright spirited and proud to the very end. Sophia and Alfred moved to the New Richmond (Stanton) area around 1945 from Edgley/ Kulm, North Dakota and shortly thereafter bought a dairy farm that they worked on with their 7 children until the early 1970’s. They then moved to New Richmond where Sophia resided well into her 90’s. Mom worked at Friday Canning for many years. She loved the people she worked with and the purpose it gave her. After she retired she enjoyed time with family and friends, working in her yard and doing some traveling. Sophia was a bright spot in the many lives she touched and will be dearly missed. Sophia was proceeded in death by her parents, Stanislaus Taszarek & Hedwig (nee Wawrzyniak), 7 siblings: brothers, Peter, John, Adam, Stanislaus and Thomas Taszarek; her sisters, Rose Srozinski, Stella Forsman and Josephine Dutcher; husbands, Alfred Jantz and Glen Malone; Grandson, Cory Scott Peterson (Cyndi), sons-in-Law, Ray White, Donald Cress, Ron Wittstock. Sophia is survived by her 7 children: Sandy White, Jim Jantz, Dawn Cress, Claudia Wittstock, Cyndi Sylte (Dave Larsen), Wanda Heffron (Greg Wickenhauser), Candy Vanampting (Tom Larson); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. A service for Sophia was held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11 am at West Immanuel Lutheran Church 447 180th Street, Osceola, WI with lunch to follow. Visitation was from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was held in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park following lunch.  Cremation provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of New Richmond.
