Sheldon Christianson 11/23/2019

Sheldon Christianson, age 67 of New Richmond, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at his home. Sheldon was born to Gene and Mae Belle Christianson on May 23, 1952 in Mora, MN. He attended Fridley High School, graduating class of 1970. Sheldon served with the Marines. After being honorably discharged in 1973, Sheldon worked as an automotive mechanic. He married Beverly Keller on August 22, 2017, after being together since 1991. Sheldon loved cooking, baking, gardening, woodworking, reading, and was an avid collector. He will be remembered for his wild rice soup and cheesecake. He was a creative, caring man and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and pet owner. Sheldon is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Mae Belle; grandson, Austin Swanson; and sister, Carol. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Keller; son, Erik; daughter, Johanna; sisters, Melody and Linda; brother, Steven; stepdaughters, Brenda and Tammy Swanson; his dogs, Maggie and Sammie; as well as his many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A memorial service was held Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (728 S. Knowles Ave) in New Richmond, WI. A visitation was held Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
