Sharon Ondrusik 08/01/2018

Sharon Ann Ralyon was born to John and Shirley Ralyon on September 30th, 1946 in Akron, Ohio, where she spent the beginning years of her childhood. When Sharon was just 8 years old the young family joined a Pentecostal church. As their faith grew in Ohio so did their family, her brother Bruce was born in 1956.  A couple years later when Sharon was 12 the family packed up and headed to Wisconsin. It was during this time she attended a fellowship meeting and dedicated her life to Jesus. Shortly after she was able to be baptized together with her father, a special point in both their lives.  In 1964 she graduated from Clintonville High School and headed to St. Paul, MN. There she attended Apostolic Bible Institute for 3 years. During this time, she met a young slick haired Jersey boy who caught her eye. Bob and Sharon were married June 17th 1967.  They soon started their family together. Tammy was born in 1971 followed by her twin brothers Jeff and Erik in 1973. Two years later the family was able to buy some land in Afton, MN. Bob was able to build a wonderful home where Sharon cared and nurtured her growing children. It was also a place where she loved to entertain and provide a loving environment for anyone who came through the door.  Even though Sharon was busy with a new family it didn’t keep her from her passion of teaching and showing kids the love of Jesus. It started with Hobby club and grew into teaching at Camp Galilee, Sunday school, and Vacation Bible school.  Education was important to Sharon. She was able to secure a job at New Life Christian School to help provide a Christian based education for her kids. This also put her in an environment she loved. To further her education, she later went to Northwestern College in her 50’s and received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She took jobs in various schools, meeting all kinds of children that loved Mrs. O.  As Sharon’s family grew to include grandchildren she enjoyed her role of being a grandma. Every holiday everyone could expect gift bags filled with all sorts of goodies. Sharon was never alone, always spending time with her mom and the ladies from church. The group was always playing various games late into the night.  Sharon was affected by dementia over the last few years. As her illness progressed she was helped through this difficult time with care from her loving husband and granddaughter Breanna among other family members. Sharon passed on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, and will be joining her father John Ralyon, and her unborn child in heaven. She will be sorely missed by her mother Shirley Ralyon, her husband Robert of 51 years, children Tammy (Brian) Byrley, Jeff (Gina) and Erik (Kelly) Ondrusik; Grandchildren: Breanna, Jacob, Abby and Emma Byrley; Noah, Hannah, Liv and Sophie Ondrusik; Caleb, Avery and Elijah Ondrusik, brother Bruce (Vickie) Ralyon, nephew Zack, and niece Mariah Ralyon, plus countless other friends and family.  A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Visitation was held on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 4-8 pm and on Saturday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at the funeral home.  Interment was in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Somerset, WI. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.

    Dear family!
Sharon was always fun and thinking of others! She blessed everyone~ that twinkle in her eye said so much. I won’t forget how she helped and planned, and bought a gorgeous plant for the kids to present to me after a children’s choir musical. (The music machine) she may have purchased all the balloons too! She was just that way~ love to all~ Nancy Norris
