Sharon Gorka 09/11/2026

Sharon L. Gorka, 78, Star Prairie (Cedar Lake – Polk County), WI passed away peacefully Friday, September 11, 2026, at the St. Croix County Health Center, New Richmond, WI, after a brief battle with cancer. Sharon was an avid reader, loved her Arabian horses, gardening, and photographing mushrooms. She worked as a Print Buyer/Production Manager for Motorbooks/Quarto Publishing for 27 years. She also had her own photography business photographing horses, horse shows, and weddings. She preferred the horses because they didn’t talk back and were more cooperative. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford J. Gorka Sr. and Dolores Raitor Gorka; and by her brother Nicholas Gorka.  She is survived by her brother Cliff Gorka, Jr. (Rachel), and her sister Michelle Gorka; nephews Randy (Amy), Jared, Chris (Jeanna) and Dan; Niece Danielle; great nephews Ryan, Kyle, and Alex; great nieces Amanda and Elliana; aunts Kathy (John) Byrne, Barbara Gorka and Joan Gorka; and sister-in-law, Patti Gorka.

Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior and lunch followed at Bakken-Young Funeral Home, 728 S. Knowles Avenue, New Richmond, WI. Interment was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, New Richmond, WI.
