Shannon Wakefield 11/23/2024

Shannon Wakefield, age 64, of River Falls, WI passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2024, surrounded by family.  Shannon was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Larry and Kathleen Hoye and was the eldest of 3 children.  A lifelong advocate for children, Shannon dedicated her career to nurturing and inspiring young lives as an Early Childhood Provider.  Shannon’s unwavering patience, kindness, and passion made a lasting impact on countless children, leaving a legacy of love and guidance. Shannon had a second passion in restoring and refinishing furniture which was often for sale in local shops in the surrounding communities.  Above all, Shannon cherished her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who she was always making countless craft projects with as they brought her immense joy and pride to her later years. Shannon’s warmth, laughter, and stories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.  Shannon is survived by her husband, Robert Wakefield; children, Brandy (Brady) Cudd, Ryan Wakefield; grandchildren, Chloe, Sydney, Joshua, Raelynn; Siblings, Brian Hoye, Kelly (Greg) Zillmer.  A Celebration of Shannon’s Life was held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 1-4 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 805 E Division Street River Falls, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
