With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Kay Hipkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sandra passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2024 at Regions Hospital, in Minnesota. Sandra was born on November 29, 1972, in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she spent most of her life before residing in her forever home in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She attended high school in South Saint Paul, Minnesota, achieved a banking certification, along with restaurant management, and later graduated from WITC in New Richmond, Wisconsin in 2013. She was a full-time homemaker later in life.

Sandra lived a life filled with love, kindness, and compassion. She will be remembered for her spunky strong-willed spirit, infectious laughter, unwavering dedication to her family, and friends, and tireless efforts to improve someone’s day. Sandra touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth and generosity.

She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Hipkins; three children, Jason Myhre (Chelsea), Chris Hawley (Harlee), and Brian Myhre; and three grandchildren, Octavia, Natalie, and Hannah, along with her sisters, Kelly Meck (Michael), Susie Pream (Dan), Lisa Sweeney, and Laura Miles (Jeremy), and brothers, David Myhre, and Rodney Sweeney (Angela), who will always cherish the memories they shared with her. All who knew her will deeply miss Sandra’s vibrant spirit and warm presence.

Sandra loved her children more than anything; she was always there when her boys needed her and was always up for their spontaneous adventures. She enjoyed watching the ships come in Lake Superior, watching movies, fishing, and spending time with her loved ones.

Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but we take comfort in knowing she is at peace. Sandra will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Sharon Sweeney (Myhre).

May she rest in eternal peace, and forever in our hearts.

Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2:00PM at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services. (728 S Knowles Ave, New Richmond, WI 54017) with a visitation one hour before the service and a reception following the service.

All her arrangements will be held with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
