Ruth Plumley, age 104 of River Falls, died on Friday, February 13, 2015 at her home. She was born the daughter of Otto and Borghild (Pedersen) Larson on November 5, 1910 in Beldenville, WI. She attended the Morton Corner School. Ruth’s mother died when she was 12 yrs old and after 8th grade she cared for her younger siblings and helped on the farm. In 1930, Ruth married Roy Plumley in Red Wing, MN. They settled in River Falls. Ruth worked at Smead for 46 years retiring at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Plumley; son-in-law, Ken Freese; brothers, Ed Larson, Sam Larson, Leland Larson, Glen Larson, Henry Larson; and sisters, Lillian Luka and Jennie Larson. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Marylyn Freese; grandchildren, Becky Dowd and Todd (Mandy Pichla) Freese; great-grandchildren, Sarah Dowd, Jason Freese, Katie Pichla; great great-grandchildren, Taylor Olson, Shaelyn Olson, Nash Freese, Landry Freese; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls. Visitation was also Tuesday from 1-2 pm at the church. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
