Rusalind Fernstrom 01/24/2016

Rusalind DeeAnna Fernstrom, age 66 of New Richmond, died on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  She was born the daughter of Russell and Edna Fernstrom on September 16, 1949 in Rice Lake, WI.  Rusalind attended school in Hammond, WI at a first of its kind special needs program.  She worked at the St. Croix County Sheltered Workshop.  Rusalind was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and also attended Faith Community Church.  She enjoyed bowling and competing in the Special Olympics.  She recently was a princess in Crowning Achievements Pageant, loved her friends at PSI, and enjoyed making all kinds of crafts.  Rusalind was a determined, strong willed woman of faith.  She is preceded in death by her father, Russell Fernstrom; and niece, Laurie Fernstrom.  Rusalind is survived by her mother, Edna Fernstrom; siblings, George ( Lynn) Fernstrom, Glenn (Kari Blair) Fernstrom, and Marie (Karl) Mathys; nieces and nephews, Karrie (Mike) Lynch, Jennifer Fernstrom, Kristen (Kyle) Kraft, Nick (Kirsten) Fernstrom, Erin (Ryan) Vanasse, Christopher Fernstrom, Nicole Fernstrom, Gillian Fernstrom, and Glen Fernstrom; great nieces and nephews, Cameron, Norah, Samantha, Ashley, Owen, Isaac, Henry, Bryant, Wyatt, Jaden, and Elijah.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.  Visitation will also be Friday from 10-11am at the church.  Interment will be in Comstock, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
