Roy Forehand 11/24/2011

Roy J. Forehand, Jr. age 85 of River Falls went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at The Lutheran Home.  He was born the son of Roy and Elaine (Chinnock)Forehand on July 29, 1926 in River Falls.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  On June 16, 1951, he married Lois J. Ward at the First Congregational Church in River Falls.  Roy had a love of vehicles; this was not only his career, but a passion for automobiles and motorcycles.   Through the years he sold auto parts with various employers and retired from UWRF.  He loved his grandchildren and was blessed that they all lived close to River Falls, so he could enjoy all their extra-curricular activities.    Roy passed the time wood working on both large and small projects and enjoyed putzing around the garden.  He was a member of the River Falls American Legion Fletcher-Pechacek Post #121 and a member of First Congregational Church where he was known for his strong faith and a servant attitude.  Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elaine; wife, Lois; sisters, MaryLou Forehand and Donna Forehand.  He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Julie (Keith) Hansen and Jane (Bill) Schaub; grandchildren, Lindsay (Luke) Oldenburg, Marissa (James “Jimbo”) Mikla, Justin (Kristin Uttenhove) Schaub, Alicia Schaub, Karina Schaub; great grandchildren, Madisyn, Brooklyn, Kaelyn, Greyson, Sawyer; sister, Lois Fisher; nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.  A memorial service was held Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 3:00 pm at First Congregational Church in River Falls.  Memorial visitation was also Sunday from 2:00-3:00 pm at the church.  Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors provided by the River Falls American Legion.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
