Rosemary Cathrine Springer, aged nearly 90, from New Richmond, WI, passed away peacefully in the Arbor of the Deerfield in the loving arms of her daughter on Monday, November 6, 2023. Rosemary was born the daughter of Raymond and Esther (Boucher) Sullivan on November 18, 1933. She attended the one room Squaw Lake School for eight years and graduated from New Richmond High School. Rosemary entered the United States Navy soon after graduating high school, and honorably discharged in February of 1954. She was a patriotic woman and remained active in service to her country by being deeply involved for decades in the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion and as an election judge in Saint Croix county. Because Rosemary was wildly famous and mildly notorious, she was known and loved by oh-so-many people, too many actually to put a number to. For many years, Rosemary ran the Duebers Fabrics store on the main street of New Richmond. She was a master seamstress with her greatest creations being wedding dresses. Rosemary had a wicked sense of humor and was an exceptional artist. Her creativity and vivid imagination came to life through her works of oil paintings, water paintings, pencil drawings, and hundreds of meticulous woodcarvings. Rosemary was most content while sitting at her carving table, covered to her knees in wood chips, with one or two grandchildren noodling around on the floor at her feet with their own carving knife and a stick. Being dang near 90 years old, Rosemary was preceded in death by almost her entire generation of family and two daughters-in-law, Elizabeth (Tom) Nirmaier and Jennifer (Greg) Springer. Her younger brother, Norman Sullivan, from Harrison, Arkansas, is the lone exception. Rosemary begrudgingly left behind her four children and their wives/significant others; Sons, Tom (Barb Murphy) Nirmaier, Joe (Kate) Nirmaier, Greg (Shawn) Springer; and her daughter, Nancy (Melanie Mills) Springer; grandchildren, Luke (Amy Covington) Nirmaier, Danielle (Adrian) Olsgard, Adam (Alina) Nirmaier, Amie (Garret) Yerigan, Aaron (Amanda) Nirmaier, Ivy Mills, Phil (Kendra) Jones, Tiffany Jones, Danielle Jones, Alex Kosak, Sarah (Tyler) Montgomery, Jacob Cumming; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 4 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI and streamed live through the link just below this obituary. Visitation was on Saturday from 1-4 pm at the funeral home. Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Farmington, WI. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Our condolences Greg, Nancy and family
Oh my … feel like I lost another mother and a dear friend. Rosemary intersected my life many times over. Started out when I was getting married back in the 70’s and I consulted her on a wedding gown pattern/dress question and then worked for her when she managed Duebers Fabric store in town. Throughout my alterations business career she would take work to help me out and at one point I hired her to work for me. Funny how life goes. I saw her a few months back at the Deerfield and saw the same familiar sweet smile on the face that I’ve known for years. I will miss her.
She loved you like a daughter, Annette.
Rest in peace Rosemary. You were such an amazing lady and you will be greatly missed by all whom had the pleasure to be in your presence. My sympathies to Nancy and the family.
Our heart felt condolences and prayers for the family. ❤️
To Joe and Kate and family, we are so very sorry for your loss.
Lovely women
I will always remember her smile/laugh. Very thankful when she came into my classroom at St. Mary School to help the students make teddy bears to be given away.
Tom and family. I am so sorry on hearing the news of Rosemary. I will forever remember her laughter and smile, hold those memories close as they will help you in the days/years ahead.
