Ronald Allen Olson, age 68, joined the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, December 21, 2018.
He was a beloved husband of Velma, brother of Larry and Laura Lea, father of Jocelyn and Caleb, step-father of Tara and Stacey, and grandfather of many children whom he loved dearly. Ron will forever be remembered for his overflowing faith, kindness, patience, strength and wisdom. Throughout his life, Ron formed incredibly close bonds with those around him and touched countless lives. He deeply cherished his wife Velma. There was truly nothing more important to him than faith and family. Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed playing tennis, boating, waterskiing, pulling his grandchildren on the tube and, most of all, spending time with family. Ron was a proud fan of the Brewers and Badgers, and co-owner of the Green Bay Packers. He earned an accounting degree from UW-Eau Claire and spent his career in the financial and accounting field before retiring in 2016. Ron was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in August of 2018 and fought the disease with dignity and strength, never wavering in his faith. Ron said that no matter the outcome, he would be a winner—either with more days on Earth or by joining his parents Norman and Dolores in heaven. His body succumbed to complications from the disease while he was surrounded by his loving family and friends, who will miss Ron immensely. A memorial service was held at Grace Community Church in Turtle Lake, WI on Saturday, December 29 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
