Ronald C. Lockhart, age 83 of Somerset, WI, died on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Deerfield in New Richmond, WI.  Ron served in the Navy as a radioman aboard the USS Des Moines sailing in the Mediterranean Sea.  He loved to tell the stories of being on the ship and the places he traveled to.  Ron had a passion for technology and loved to soak up as much as he could.  He began his career with the St. Paul School District as a Boiler Engineer, moving up to Supervisor of Heating and Maintenance.  From there he moved to Hennepin County, spending the last 30 years of his career with the county as Facility Supervisor, retiring as the Senior Facility Supervisor.  Ron enjoyed spending time up at the cabin with Nancy every possible weekend.  Having many family weekends, family reunions, berry picking walks, and geo caching with his grandchildren.  Spending time on Big Mackenzie fishing and just enjoying the eagles and loons.  Ron enjoyed home brewing with his grandsons, Michael and Howard and son-in-law, Brad.  Ron won metals in many competitions as well as the rest of the home brew crew.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy C. Lockhart and Frances Johnson; grandsons, Tommy Lockhart, Michael Lockhart; brothers, Gordon Lockhart, Kenneth Lockhart; sisters, Joan (James) Zerwas, Kathryn Daily; and sister-in-law, Donna Lockhart.  Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years and best friend, Nancy Lockhart; children, Richard (Kathy) Lockhart, Connie (Ken) Munn, and Kathleen (Brad) Stokke; grandchildren, Howard (Erin) Spiess, Christina (Chris) Sarazin, Amanda Stokke, Rebecca (Michael) Lukomski; great-grandchildren, Connor, Abbi, Aidan, Stella and Lucy; sister, Donna Hathaway; brothers, LeRoy Lockhart, John (Ruth) Lockhart; sister-in-law, Joyce Lockhart; brother-in-law, Bob Daily; and many nieces and nephews.  We will be forever thankful for the care and compassion Ron received from the staff at the Deerfield and from St. Croix Hospice  A Memory Sharing Service was held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 4 pm followed by military honors and a meal at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI.  Visitation was also on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Deerfield designated to The New Richmond Dementia Coalition.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services
