Ronald George Anderson, age 74 of Maiden Rock, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Mayo Health Systems in Red Wing, MN. Ron was born on May 13, 1941 in Wauwatosa, WI. His parents were Nels and Grace (Annen) Anderson and he grew up in rural Bay City, WI. Ron graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1959 on a Friday and went to work the following Monday for Riedell Shoe Company in Red Wing. He spent the next 40 years with Riedell’s as well as maintaining an additional part time job. Ron married the love of his life and best friend, Marlene Myer, on July 29, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. This union was blessed with five daughters. Ron and Marlene also farmed their land in Hartland Township for several years. In retirement, Ron worked for the Home Depot in Woodbury, MN and later enjoyed his job delivering auto parts to Ellsworth and surrounding area businesses. Ron was a Ham Radio Operator and enjoyed a special talent of tinkering or “rigging” things around their home. He loved his dogs, Izzy and Pepper, and his cat, Abby Cat. Ron is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Anderson; parents, Nels and Grace Anderson; and great-grandson, Landon Mark. Ron is survived by his wife, Marlene Anderson; daughters, Lynette (John) Roper, Lori Anderson, Louie Anderson Mann, and Tricia (Chris) Langer; grandchildren, Nicci Roper, Corey (Connie) Roper, Justin (Annah) Roper, Michael Roper, Cassie Roper, Jaden Mann, Jennifer Mark, Danielle Diercks, Katlyn Diercks, and Joseph Schuelke; great-granddaughters, Briann and Kay Westerberg; and many other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11 at the English Lutheran Church 229 West Main Street Ellsworth, WI. Visitation was held on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 6:45 pm at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Maiden Rock, WI and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church. Interment was in Tabor Church Cemetery in Bay City. Arrangements entrusted to Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
