Roman “Romie” Fisher 02/09/2020

Roman “Romie” Fisher, age 86, of River Falls passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, February 9, 2020. He worked at Armour and Co. Meat Packing Plant, Nor Lake Inc. and retired from the River Falls Clinic. Romie loved fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening and grilling. He is remembered as a very nice, sensible and straightforward man who was always willing to help others. He loved his family and was proud of his adult children and grandchildren. He enjoyed socializing with his many friends at local establishments and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Sophie (Placzek) Fisher; former wife, Eleanor; siblings, Mary Jane (Gordy) Johnson, Norbert (Anna) Fisher; brother-in-law, Bud Cooper; and aunt, Florence (Tom) Placzek. Romie is survived by his children, Daniel (Brooke) Fisher, Brenda Estrada, Linda (Gary Foster) Morning, Terry (Kristin) Fisher, Tammy (Patrick) Winter; grandchildren, Justin (Nicky) Larson, Derek (Dani) Fisher, Miranda (Kevin Hermanson), Sara (Glen Stevens) Estrada, Bailey Morning, Emilee (Reid Plackner) Morning, Abigail Morning, Henry Earl Fisher, Fern Fisher, Hannah (Trevor) Brekenridge, Max Winter; great-grandchildren, Trey Larson, Jaxson Larson, Molly Larson, Crue Larson, Eleanor Faye Fisher; sisters, Pat Cooper; Audrey (Tom) Fischer; many other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services (805 E Division St.) in River Falls. A luncheon followed the service. Private family interment was in St. Bridget Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
