Robert Murphy 04/30/2023

Robert F. Murphy, age 81, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at his home. He was born in Saint Paul, MN on August 9, 1941. Robert grew up in Saint Paul, graduating from Mechanic Arts High School in 1960. After high school, Robert attended Century College. Robert worked in plastics, at Gould batteries, and retired from Garda security in 2003. He loved volunteering at Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was a jolly, gruff teddy bear.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene; daughter, Jennifer Coleman; son, Thomas; and brother, Bruce. Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan; daughters, Lynne (Timothy) Coleman and Shelley Berquist; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Joel Coleman; sister-in-law, Nancy; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Zion Lutheran Church (1697 LaFond Avenue) in Saint Paul, MN.  Visitation will also be Thursday one hour before the service at the church.  A luncheon will follow. Cremation services provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
