Robert Lier 11/29/2010

Robert “Bob” O. Lier age 76 of Baldwin died Monday, November 29, 2010 at his home.  He was born the son of Ole and Ruth (Nelson) Lier on September 14, 1934 in the Town of Northfield, WI.  He graduated from Hixton High School and UW- River Falls.  He served his country in the U.S. Marines and also with U.S. Army Reserve.  On August 26, 1972, Bob married Arlene Warnken at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in rural Winona.  Early in his life, he sold agriculture fertilizer and for a number of years, he sold real estate and most recently, he was in sales for Menards Stillwater store.  Bob was a long time member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodville and served on the Church Council.  He loved to farm and spent a lot of his free time on his farm near the Town of Northfield, WI.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Newland and Delores Lier.  Bob is survived by his wife, Arlene; nieces, Becky Lier, Cathy (Wayne) McCune; nephew, Bill (Karen) Lier; brothers-in-law, Willard (Roberta) Warnken, Gerald (Dorothy) Warnken; and other nieces and nephews.  A funeral service was held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodville.  Visitation was also on Thursday from 10-11 am before the service.  Interment was in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Winona, MN.  Memorials may be given to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Baldwin.
