Rita Krueger 04/21/2015

Rita Krueger age 84, formerly of New Richmond, WI, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Texas.  She was born the daughter of Herman and Rose (Droste) Gnewotta on July 10, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Rita graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland, with the class of 1948.  She married W. James Krueger on June 7, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Rita worked for Dobeckmun Co. in Cleveland, the New Richmond News and the New Richmond School District in the central office and at the high school.  The Kruegers moved to New Richmond, WI in 1971.  Rita enjoyed knitting Barbie clothes and intricate sweaters and afghans for family members, watching the skydivers in Baldwin, WI, eating out with friends and regular visits to nursing home residents.  She helped start the Golden Girls group at St. Luke’s, took care of the cradle roll, as well as being a member of the church choir, W.I.S.E. group and LWML.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Rose (Droste) Gnewotta; brothers, Milton and Gilbert Gnewotta; sister, Lois Zeuch; husband, Rev. W. James Krueger; and son, John Krueger.  Rita is survived by her children, Mark Krueger, Jean Krueger, Linda Hill and Beckie Johnson; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Stephanie Johnson, Nathaniel and Vicki Hill, Rachel Krueger, and Sarah Teppen; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Ariana and Lana Johnson and John Barrett Hill; and a special Cousin, Bernice Griesbach.  A funeral service was held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond.  A visitation was Friday, May 8, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and also Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am at the church.  Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, New Richmond, WI or Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Texas-Dallas/Fort Worth.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
