Reuben M. Larson 06/23/2018

Reuben M. Larson, age 86, of Baldwin died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Baldwin Care Center.  Reuben was born the son of Lawrence  and Vida (Beebe) Larson on July 6, 1931 in Cylon, WI.  He graduated from Baldwin High School with the class of 1949 where he participated in Boxing.  Reuben served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  He was married to Lois Geurkink on September 29, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwin.  Reuben was a farmer by trade and by passion retiring in 1997.  He also spent many years whitewashing barns.  In retirement, Reuben worked at the Baldwin Care Center.  Reuben and Lois moved into town in 2017.  He enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in their sporting events.  He was a quiet, hard working man who got straight to the point.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Vida Larson; in-laws, Roy and Marjorie Geurkink; siblings, Norman (Marilyn) Larson, Gerald Larson, Carol Kjeseth; infant brother, Gilbert Larson; and brothers-in-law, Harvey Geurkink, Mike (Wilma) Geurkink.  Reuben is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois Larson; children, Joy (Doug) Newton, Jim Larson, Terry (Tricia) Larson, Gary (Carol) Larson; grandchildren, Scott (Kristin) Newton, Brad (Sue) Newton, Brian (Dannel) Newton, Jill (Graham) Gausman, Grant Larson, Kyle Larson, Rachel Larson, Ryan Larson, Kathryn “Katie” Larson; great-grandchildren, Brandon Newton, Madelyn Newton, Sam Newton, Will Newton, Ellie Newton, Dyna Newton, Hailey Gausman, Easton Gausman, Kaden Gausman, Carter Gausman; God children, Jason LaFavor and daughter, Madelynn, and Larissa LaFavor; brother, Paul (Bev) Larson; brother-in-law, Ralph Kjeseth; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church 1650 8th avenue Baldwin, WI.  Visitation was also on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 9-11 am at the church.  Interment was in the Baldwin Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the Baldwin Care Center or the First Presbyterian Church.   Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Baldwin.
