Ralph Geater 11/26/2010

Ralph D. Geater age 76 of Osceola passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2010 after battling Alzheimer’s disease.  He was born the son of Harold and Evelyn (Allshouse) Geater on July 14, 1934 in Vinton, IA.  Ralph grew up in Vinton and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1953.  He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Germany.  After returning from the service he was an electrical apprentice and pursued his Journeyman’s and Master Electrical licenses.  Ralph owned and operated R&L Electric for 40 years and retired in 1996 from Ford Motor Company after 31 years.  He enjoyed spending leisure time in Siren on Clam Lake and he loved his grandchildren.  He will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Linda; children, Jon Geater, Julie (Roy) Ericksen, Joy (Randy) Johns, Gayleen (Cyrus) Bains; grandchildren, Kayla, Cheri, Kyle, Kylie, Jonah, Kayeleen, Connor and Alex.  A funeral service was held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 4:00 pm at Bakken-Young’s Beebe Mortuary in New Richmond.  Visitation was also Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 pm before the service.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young’s Beebe Mortuary of New Richmond.
