In Loving Memory of Paula
Paula Ann Listopad, age 63, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in New Richmond, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love of those closest to her, following a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy–Richardson Syndrome. Paula was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was raised in Charleston, South Carolina where she lived until relocating to Wisconsin in 1999.
Paula was full of life, personality, and an almost concerning obsession with the color pink. If it came in pink, she wanted it. If it didn’t come in pink, that was simply a manufacturing error. Her family spent years trying to convince her that other colors existed. They were unsuccessful.
She loved crocheting, sewing, gardening, owls, and Vince Gill. Between the yarn, fabric, flowers, and owl decorations, we’re fairly certain she was one craft store trip away from needing another house. Preferably a pink one.
Paula is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jo Brannan; her grandchildren, Chennaye Brannan, Christian Brannan, Channing Brannan, and Patrick Listopad; her sisters, Nancy, Julie (Keith), and Anna (Ben); and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Baby Jayden; her son-in-law, Jarrod Brannan; and her parents, Brenda and Joseph Listopad.
Her illness may have slowed her down, but it never erased the colorful woman her family knew and loved.
Heaven has officially been put on notice. Someone should probably hide the white curtains, lock up the paint, and warn the angels that their robes are about to get a makeover.
Rest easy, Paula. We hope heaven has unlimited yarn, beautiful gardens, plenty of owls, and absolutely no restrictions on the color pink.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
Per Paula’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Flowers and cards can be sent directly to the family. Cremation provided by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
