Patty Jo Taylor, age 77, of Somerset, Wisconsin passed away on September 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with complications of Parkinson’s Disease. She was surrounded by her family and friends.
Patty was born July 26, 1948, in Searcy, Arkansas to Daisy Jo and Asbury F Stewart. Her early years were spent in a rural country environment where she loved the miniature ponies and the hunting dogs that they raised on their farm. She moved with her family to Lynnwood, California in Los Angeles County at the age of twelve. She continued school there and graduated from Lynnwood High School in 1966.
In 1973 she married Bruce Taylor. They had two children – Christopher and Kathleen. They also acquired other kids throughout the years that were taken into their home totaling twelve plus their offspring. The table was always crowded and the house never empty.
Through the weeks, months, and years that they lived with Patty and Bruce, she always shared common sense advice and an unconditionally loving attitude toward them. Her family was always her first concern, but she would help anyone if she could.
Patty had a passion for cooking and collecting recipes and cookbooks. She loved baking and food artistry. Wonderful smells of beautiful baked goods and cooked dishes always promised something good to eat.
In 1985, the family moved to East Farmington, Wisconsin, where she added gardening and their farm to her passions. She loved canning and freezing her food. Through the years, she taught preschool and Sunday school and participated in numerous youth organizations.
She trained as a First Responder and was amongst the founding members of County Line First Responders.
Patty is survived by her husband Bruce, daughter Kathleen, granddaughters Taylor June and Willow Rose, grandson Cyler, sisters-in-law Peggy Taylor and Bonnie Taylor, and many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life visitation was held from 4pm – 8pm on Friday, 19 September 2025 at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles avenue New Richmond, Wisconsin.
An enormous thank you to Lakeview Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful, loving care during Patty’s last days. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
