Patrick R. Sullivan age 76 of Ellsworth, formerly of Bay City passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born the son of Michael and Emma (Burns) Sullivan on December 20, 1934 in Fort Rice, North Dakota. Pat served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1965 during the Korean War. On December 9, 1972, he married Marlene Pfenning in Ellsworth. Pat worked at the Twin Cities Shipyards, Hanson’s Construction in Menomonie and Thomas & Betts in Hager City. He loved to drive around and visit family and friends. Pat also enjoyed playing Texas Hold Em in the community center and fishing. He dearly loved his wife, kids and grandkids. Pat is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; brother, Larry Burns; sister, Winnie Kopp; granddaughter, Connie Gentry and great-grandson, Hunter Lifto. He is survived by his children, Maschall (special friend, Darren Bloomstrand) Purdy, Candice Baier, Kemp (special friend Pam Turnbell) Baier, Carmen (Ron) Schumacher, Perry Baier, DeLine “Punky” (Kevin) Niebur, Patricia Sullivan, Patrick Gruelle, DeAnn (Clyde) Gentry, DeLynn (Kevin) Mittleider; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (June), Mike (Annette), Judy, Bridget (Ted) and Emma. A funeral service was held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 11:00 am at Svea Lutheran Church in Hager City. Visitation was Sunday from 4-7 pm at Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Maiden Rock and also Monday from 10-11 am at church. Interment was in Svea Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
