Patricia “Pat” Swenson, age 83, of River Falls, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her home. She was born the daughter of Carl and Anna Lansing on June 29, 1937 in Spring Valley, WI. Pat grew up in many places and graduated from River Falls High School, class of 1955. Following high school, Pat attended college at UWRF to become a teacher. Pat worked at Equity Co-op in River Falls, Cenex Co-op in New Richmond, Treasure Island in Welch, MN, and worked as a substitute teacher. Pat married Roger Swenson on March 31, 1973 at Rush River Lutheran Church. She loved cooking, gardening, gambling, and reading. One of Pat’s greatest joys was cooking for her family at all the gatherings. She enjoyed travelling with Roger especially out west. Pat was generous, kind, and witty, who loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Carl and Anna; siblings, Linaire Stene, Kermit Lansing, Norville Lansing. Pat is survived by her children, Tom (Joni) Moe, Luanne (Greg) O’Connell, Kelly Heil (Mark Dvorak); grandchildren, Ashley Jansen (Tyler Diel), Mary Pat (Randy) Hoffman, Shannon Rivera (Adam Yahn), Olivia Heil, Grace Heil, Emily Heil, Alyssa Heil (Matt Anderson), Tyler (Tiffany) Heil; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Lansing and John Lansing; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A special thank you to Allina Hospice Care Team for their love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 2:00PM at Somerset American Legion Post 111 (464 County Road VV) in Somerset with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Rush River Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
