Patricia Christensen 07/17/2012

Patricia “Patty” Christensen (nee Rabe) age 64 of New Richmond died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at her home.  Patty was born the daughter of Walde and Ruth (Sanburg) Rabe on March 17, 1948 in Friesland, MN.  Patty found true happiness and true love the past 7 years with her one true love, Larry.  She had a special love for her grandchildren, children and pets.  Her walk with God and her faith helped get her through the painful times.  Her favorite pastimes were gardening, going in the big truck and traveling with Larry, the horses, and putting a creative touch on everything she did.  Patty was always willing to help where needed until the pain in her body got to be too much.  St. Patrick’s Day was always a special day to her.  She had Irish Green everywhere all year long.  She will be missed deeply but her memory will remain in our hearts.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Walde and Ruth Rabe.  Patty is survived by her husband, Larry Christensen; children, Patience (Billy) Biedler and SSGT Paul (Rachael) Jensen; step-children, Lynnea (Brent) Vogel, Jalainna (Jeff) Ellis, and Travis Lagasse; grandchildren, Adam Gibson, Brett Gibson, Carlie Gibson, PFC Derek Gibson, Bryce Rodewald, Evalynn Biedler, Dylan Jensen, Robby Jensen, Cassie Jensen, Brandon Fura, Kody Fura, Dalton Vogel, Ryan Paulson, and Chase Paulson; sisters, Sandra (Les) Gutknecht, and Linda (LeRoy) Dahlgren; in-laws, Bruce (Joyce) Christensen, Randy (Rosie) Christensen, Jim (Bonnie) Christensen, Steven (Maria) Christensen, Doreen (Bob) Johnson; aunt, June Sanburg; beloved pets, Dylan, Festus, and Daisey; and many nieces, nephews and friends.   A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Askov, MN.  Visitation was also Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 1-2 pm at the church.  Interment was in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Askov.  A Celebration of Patty’s life was held on August 25, 2012 at 2 pm at the Prairieview Covenant Church in Star Prairie with visitation from 1-2 pm at the church.  Memorials are preferred.  Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
