Phillip Oza Bazille, age 48, of Boyceville, formerly of Hammond, WI, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and his loving caregivers. He was born on September 8, 1977, in Baldwin, WI, to Henry and Nola Bazille.
He found joy in motorcycle and Jeep rides, always eager to embrace the open road. His love for Scooby-Doo brought him joy as well as bowling. Perhaps his greatest delight was a simple trip to McDonald’s, where he could indulge in his absolute favorites—a warm meal and a refreshing Coke.
Phillip was a beloved son, brother, and uncle, and he will be deeply missed by his mother, Nola Bazille; his siblings, Aaron (Laurilli), Shirley (Mike) Leduc, Tim (Charlotte), Anita (Tony) Brantner, Martha (Joe) Jackson, Lisa (Tom) Rickard, and Eric (Tracey) Bazille; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Henry, and his nephew, Jason Bazille.
In honor of Phillip’s life, a private family graveside service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Erin Prairie, where those who loved him will gather. The details of this heartfelt gathering will be arranged by Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.
As we move forward, let us carry Phillip’s spirit within us, embracing the laughter and joy he brought into our lives. He has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and through our stories of him, his light will continue to shine.

We are so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers
Phillip was a great guy to work with, he worked with me at St. Croix Industries. It’s too bad he left us so soon. He will be missed. Rest easy Phillip.
Rest easy Phil. You will be missed. I remember when he came to visit for our wedding and he yelled “train!” Right as we were crossing the tracks in one of those group tours. Everyone got so scared, and he just laughed and laughed. Well played Phil, well played.
I loved being Phil’s teacher at SCC. I have so many wonderful (and funny) memories spent with him! We sure had a great time!
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Sharon Freitag
