Norman Huppert 02/03/2020

Norman Albert Huppert, age 83 of Ellsworth, Wisconsin passed away February 3rd, 2020.  Norman (aka “Stormin’ Norman”), bus driver, farmer and faith driven family man. Norman could be found in his natural habitat working many hours in custom farm work, fixing in his shop, and driving silage and manure trucks. Norman was known for his outstanding accomplishment of driving bus for over 1.5 million miles in his career at Ellsworth School District. Norman retired from bus driving in his 80’s, but never from farming. Farming God’s land was part of him. Later years brought on bib overalls and helping his grandchildren in the shop. Norman could and would talk farming with anyone. For him God and Family was his number one priority.  Norman cherished and loved his wife Mary of 61 years.  Norman married Mary Rohl on April 29, 1958 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls, WI.  He was so proud and cared so much for Mary and his 10 children, 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.  Norman is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Rohl) Huppert; children, Norma (Robert) Radke, Roman (Nancy) Huppert, Eldon Huppert, LeAllan (Mary Jo) Huppert, Kevin (Lisa) Huppert, Lonnie (Brandi Welty) Huppert, Lisa (Jeff) Plummer; grandsons, Jonathan (Rachel Kromrey) Radke, Adam Huppert, Nick (Taylor) Huppert, Will Huppert, Mathew (Dani) Huppert, Zachary Huppert, Tanner Huppert, Ben Leonard, Chase Plummer, Carter Plumer; granddaughters, Natasha (Jeffrey) Thoner, Alesha Radke, Hanna (James) Anderson, Madeline (Andrew) Birkel, Elle Leonard, Rachel Leonard; siblings, Arlene Snoeyenbos, Tootie (George Thoen) Wilbur, Dan (Fran) Huppert, Pat Huppert, Ron (Darlene) Huppert, Tom (Joanne) Huppert, Rose (Chuck) Conroy, Tony (Trudy) Huppert, Donna Huppert; and sisters-in-law, Marlyce Huppert, Janet Huppert.  Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Carmen Huppert; infant daughters, Mabel and Martha (twins), and Ann Marie Huppert; granddaughter, Kate Marie Huppert; brothers, Allan Huppert, Andy Huppert; sister, Patricia Huppert; brother-in-law, John Snoeyenbos; and sister-in-law, Pam Huppert.  Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 12 noon at St. Francis Catholic Church 231 W Woodworth Street Ellsworth, WI with The Revered Fr Eric Awortwe-Dadson as Celebrant.  Visitation was held on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 4-8 pm at St. Francis Catholic Church and also Tuesday from 10:30 am – 12 noon at the church.  Interment was in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI.  Pallbearers are grandsons, Jonathan, Adam, Nick, Will, Mathew, Zachary, Tanner, Ben, Chase, and Carter.  Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters, Natasha, Alesha, Hanna, Madeline, Elle, and Rachel.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    He was the best bus driver ever.

    Great guy always ready with a smile. I asked him why he didn’t get an ice cream cone when bus stopped there at the end of school year. He said he wanted real ice cream and the farmer in him knew the difference!

    Our thoughts and prayers go out to Norman’s family. Norman was always so nice with and an easy smile and infectious laugh. He’s rejoicing with God in Heaven. ??
