Nona Mae Sullwold, age 70 from Roberts, passed away peacefully and started her next journey on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Nona was born the daughter of Roy and Margaret (Niederhauser) Rode on March 15, 1945. At the age of 3 years old, Nona’s family moved to Roberts. She was a graduate of St. Croix Central High School with the class of 1963. On May 22nd 1965, Nona was married to Tom Sullwold at the Roberts United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, mother and farmed alongside her husband, Tom. Nona enjoyed her flower gardens, sewing, cooking, dancing with Tom and working with stained glass. She was generous and kind, hardworking, and accepted life gracefully as it happened. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margaret Rode; and brother-in-law, Don Colbeth. Nona is survived by her husband, Tom Sullwold; children, Jan (Doug) Bakken, Cher (Ron) Cormican, Pam “P.J.” (Carlos) Varela; grandchildren, Ellie (Isaac) Johanek, Ben (Kaia) Bakken, Amanda (Race) Rolling, Josh, Kyle, Jessica, Elvis and Sammy Cormican, Nicki and Neena Varela; great-granddaughter, Nora Mae Johanek; siblings, Marijean Colbeth, Doug (Peggy) Rode; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11 am at Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts. Visitation was on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 3-6 pm at Cross Lutheran Church and on Monday from 10-11 am. Interment was in Warren Cemetery.
