Neoma Swenson 11/21/2020

Neoma Pauline Swenson, age 82, of New Richmond, WI, died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Deerfield Gables.  Neoma was born the daughter of Merriell and Evelyn (Larson) Langness on March 1, 1938 in Boardman, WI.  She graduated from New Richmond High School with the class of 1956.  On December 15, 1956, Neoma was married to Dale Swenson at the First Lutheran Church in New Richmond.  They had an unshakeable bond which began upon meeting at Dale’s junior prom.  She worked at the Red Owl in River Falls before moving to the 300 acre dairy farm they purchased in New Richmond.  Neoma had many fond memories of her time spent with Dale at Lake Wapogasset.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church and The Stanton Card Club.  Neoma enjoyed playing cards, sewing, quilting, gardening, arranging flowers, trips to the casino, reading and traveling.  She was known for the handmade cards that she sent to family and friends and her rhubarb jam.  Neoma was the “rock” in her family.  She valued kindness, hard work, family history, and celebrating life through big birthday and holiday gatherings.  She was a quiet constant in the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Merriell and Evelyn Langness; son, James Swenson; and sister, Elaine (Dick) Lamson.  Neoma is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dale Swenson; daughters, Debra (Jeff) Kiekhoefer and Tamera (Bill) Wells; daughter-in-law, Deb (Larry) Olson; grandchildren, Joseph (Jennifer) Kiekhoefer, Mike (Kelly) Swenson, Tony (Sara) Swenson, Holly (Joe) Connors, Jeremy Kiekhoefer, Christy (Dustin) Lee, Tom Wells, Jamie Kiekhoefer, Dan (Nicole) Wells, Jessica (Derek) Venable; 15 great-granchildren; siblings, Emmett (Margaret) Langness, Paul (Nancy) Langness, Neal (Arlyce) Langness, Nila (Lynn) Forrest; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 11 am at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services 728 S Knowles Avenue New Richmond, WI.   Visitation was also on Wednesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.  Interment was in Boardman Cemetery in Boardman, WI.  Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

    Dale and Family My condolence’s go out to you and your family so sorry to hear of your loss of Neoma. ill treasure the times with you guys and for letting me stay there with you guy when i was like 17 or 18 years old.
