Neil Cunningham 01/07/2018

Neil Cunningham, 69, of New Richmond, WI passed away Sunday January 7, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Neil Cunningham was born in Spooner, WI to Ernest and Claire Cunningham. He had a younger brother named Paul Cunningham. Neil graduated from Spooner High School in 1966. Neil served in the Army for 19 months serving in Vietnam and receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 1972 Neil married his first wife Carol and had one daughter named Rebekah on June 24, 1974. In the summer of 1980 Neil moved to Aurora, IL and married Cheryl Stone. Neil and Cheryl had two children together. Bridget born on February 28, 1984 and Aaron on October 26, 1987. In Aurora, IL Neil started his own drywall business that he had for about 20 years. Neil eventually moved back up North to Wisconsin where he worked for a Painters Union. Neil enjoyed fishing and playing around on his boats and tractors. Neil is survived by his three children Rebekah Murphy, Bridget (Paul) Rutkowski, and Aaron Cunningham (Jennifer Castillo). Neil had several grandchildren: Savannah, Jacob, Alex, Gavin, Brooke, Adrian, Samantha, and Kylie. He had one great grandchild named Athena. Neil is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Claire Cunningham, brother Paul Cunningham, and his wife Cheryl. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bakken Young Beebe Chapel (112 W. 3rd Street PO Box 46 New Richmond, WI 54017). Visitation was prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
